Anyone who knows me is probably aware of my penchant for bright lipstick, especially red - the more obnoxious the better. My personal makeup look is generally simple and neutral, making whatever ship-directing lip shade I happen to be wearing the main focus. Since I started my nursing career, I've had to tone down the lips a lot - it's just not appropriate to rock my best pillarbox pout in the hospital. This means I've had to venture into foreign territory: pinks and nudes!
Never one to turn my nose up at drugstore makeup, I picked up a tube of L'Oreal Paris lipstick in a shade called Jlo's Nude. It's part of the Color Riche Collection Prive.
From the wrist swatch above, you can see it's pretty sheer. This makes this lipstick super easy to wear because your natural lip colour will come through a bit. It's also a cinch to apply without a mirror, which is just as well because wear time for me has been around 2 hours. That wasn't a big surprise given the sheer, creamy formula.
My lips are naturally quite pigmented, so Jlo's Nude makes them a little lighter and evens out any irregularities caused by dryness. My lips become chapped at the drop of a hat, and this lipstick has been a bit of a godsend at work where the air is dry and I may not get the chance to drink any water for hours.
Overall, I'm pleased. It's comfortable, flattering, perfect for work, and great value for money since it's a drugstore cheapie. The one thing I'd change is that I prefer more opaque lipstick. So this one is perfect for those of you who like a little something on the lips to tie your look together, but don't want any drastic changes.

Jlo's nude is a dainty, earthy nude that leans ever-so-slightly pink. The formula is super moisturising and has a subtle shine.
One risk for this type of formula is the amount of slip. I've not been wearing it with any lip liner, but fortunately haven't run into any issues with feathering.
